Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 13 November 2003 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

You know, I'm sure there's room on there for a little

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000002BUH.01.LZZZZZZZ.gif

I think that would really make it.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 November 2003 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

You put Joe Strummer and Air Supply on the same tape? If I were king of this land, you'd be in jail for that.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 13 November 2003 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

If I were King you'd be be-headed for including Shut up and Dance.

Citizen Kate to thread...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

if i were king i'd take a steaming dump on this tape.

Chris B. Sure (Chris V), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

And if were king o' the land, you'd be knighted for services to music- ace compil, Sir Antmusic78!!!!!!!

Old Fart!!! (oldfart_sd), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:35 (twenty-two years ago)

At first I was wondering what Beat Happening was doing on there, and then I remembered, oh yeah, THEY SUCK.

NA (Nick A.), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Someone tell this tape to stop kicking me

Azz (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Seriously, if I was king "Azz" would be the title of the national anthem.

scott m (mcd), Thursday, 13 November 2003 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

that original tape is like a liver and marzipan sandwich

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 13 November 2003 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Man, some of you are weird. Anyway, I'm all out of CD-Rs now (Momus, yours is in the post already), so everyone else will have to wait until I can get to Walgreen's, maybe sometime over the weekend.

Antmusic78 (Antmusic78), Thursday, 13 November 2003 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Antmusic, I seriously think this is my favorite compilation of the year!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 13 November 2003 21:40 (twenty-two years ago)

*Really?* Even better than Michael Mayer's Fabric mix?

*blushes*

Antmusic78 (Antmusic78), Thursday, 13 November 2003 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

The feeling of extreme depression and suicidal tendancies I would get from listening to either of those tapes could only be topped (no pun intended) by actually seeing the White Stripes.

For the first time, I am glad I'm at work and currently unable to experience any music.

Thank you.

Sasha (sgh), Friday, 14 November 2003 01:37 (twenty-two years ago)

oh gosha, Sasha, would we only have your great taste, then life would be the absolute mostest!!!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 14 November 2003 01:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex: That tape needs Band of Susans and Flipper.

But don't go to Providence for Lupo's! Lupo's sucks!

Ian Johnson (orion), Friday, 14 November 2003 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Does it? How so, Ian?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 14 November 2003 02:04 (twenty-two years ago)

There are big pillars that get in the way, half of the club has a horrible stage view (just by virtue of the stage not being centered), there's no re-entry (though I guess that's standard practice most places).

The sound is decent as long as you don't have some hardcore band playing next door.

Also, there are just much better places to see shows in Providence; just a bit of hometown bias. But the White Stripes don't play those places, so I guess that's besides the point.

Ian Johnson (orion), Friday, 14 November 2003 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmmm...well, duly noted. I've seen them twice anyway, so it's no great shakes. I also plan on being horrifically drunk, so who cares, eh?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 14 November 2003 02:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Now now Alex, each to their own, variety is the spice of life, diff'rent strokes for different folks and all that.

My hatred of the White Shites is more than offset by legions of idiots who think they produce something worth listening to, but at the very least I can put my sock where my potato is and list my latest effort, which was nameless save from 'Seedee for Bill' in regard to it's eventual recipient. Gotta say, apart from Blonde Redheaed (whose appeal I've never understood) and the fact that you picked the worst song in Love & Rockets' catalog, that's a fine, fine mixtap. Apologies, Sash.
