Raves of the Future

High fashion gothic chic, mutliple mezzainine levels, general darkness with the occasional strobe, Rob Zombie and NIN - does Hollywood have a handle on what the underground parties of the future will be like? Or can you suggest alternatives?

Voluntary cosmetic amputation, the ambient recorded sounds of the room amplified 300X in lieu of recorded music, webcasting the event as a transmission to Voyager in the few remaining days before it leaves the solar system as the ultimate attempt to legitimize the "scene".

Lots of black clothes and, yes, strobe lights.

Surely the ultimate question is whether Blade's raves of now can match Matrix raves in future.

And will there be doll-like babes in razor stilettos offering strange little techno pills to jejune first-timers?

colin s barrow (colin s barrow), Saturday, 15 November 2003 21:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Colin, you haven't even seen the latex S&M rave in the third Matrix!

The babes will be waist-height robots equipped with the appropriate gener-specific hydraulic accoutrements. Keanu Reeves will be fondly remembered as the Rip Taylor of the 22nd century, and Wesley Snipes as the Nipsy Russell.

(x-post)

No Matt. But you wouldn't believe how many of my friends got some ready cash from that particular scene. For six golden months the Matrix singlehandedly employed all the riggers, explosive experts and kink merchants in Sydney.

Carrie-Anne Moss just won the $1.98 Beauty Contest! (Adjusted for Zion inflation: $3,987,276).
