Robin calm down. There is NOTHING AT ALL in Matthew's statement to indicate any of what you're imputing. I also suspect Neutrino is a bit of a dick - bigging yourself up on stage in that way pretty much requires a high level of arrogance and swagger. And I think his records are sometimes brilliant: no contradiction.

I sort of knew I was exaggerating, but there's something about Matthew that always bugs me. Not that he seems right-wing, more obsessed with looking "classy" and "bettering yourself" in a manner which often leads to disastrous social snobbery. To be honest, that was more an attack on the tone of a lot of Matthew's posts here than on the one I was replying to. His "roundly terrible" line got to me not because of what he said but the way he seemed to be saying it.

I'll leave Matthew to defend himself here, but I'll just say that his descriptions of West Yorkshire sound *to me* like he's adopting a tone of effortless superiority in a way that Gareth's descriptions of the same area never have or could. The very worst element of Momus scenestery.
