two that immediately come to mind are in the doors' "light my fire" and loose fur's "chinese apple". other songs that make great or awful use of a seemingly neverending bridge?

Try Gold & Silver, by Quicksliver Messenger Service - the whole song is, in fact, a bridge..rather like an upbeat 3/4 version of the Light My Fire passage.
