I'd like to say Pharrell for making hip-hop more pop than the Trackmasters, but that might be too easy. 50 Cent and El-P come to mind, but I like their music - just not their personalites.

Yeah Dave, it's surprisingly great, a definite attempt to elevate above the levels of novelty act, the beats on it are some of the best you'll hear this year. Marcello had a nice piece on his new blog about it.
