so i saw this old compilation from 1997 called "hardcore dancefloor" and i thought - what the hell. and it has these tracks that are just incredible on it:

psycho city - dj misjah & groovehead
creation - phrenetic
wake up - bay b kane
slow jam - bizzy b
extravaganza - dj misjah & groovehead
nice up ya scene - ellis d
keep your love - dj misjah & tim
take me away - untouchables
smokin' a blunt - chuck e
jungle warriors - bay b kane
the power - warped kore
expression - in perfection
rhythm - bay b kane

does anybody know who these people are? i know ellis d, but who's bay b kane? untouchables? chuck e? and wasn't 1997 a little late for this kind of stuff?

At least some of those tracks are MUCH earier than 1997 ("Wake Up" is on Speed Limit Vol 4 from 1994). Kane was a hardcore/darkcore/jungle guy who actually released an ALBUM according to Discogs.com. Bizzy B was a big ragga jungle/jump up name. I'll confess to being totally ignorant of rest.

this comp is seriously weird. mixed in among these tracks are dodgy acid trance workouts by groups with names like "pyjama party", "cabbag patch" and "temple of acid". also there's tracks on this by rising high recording artists MLO.

that untouchables track is great! some of this stuff is from at least 92, maybe earlier. bay b kane also did that great "hello darkness" track.

I meant "Access"...

These are all artists from the White House label, circa 93-94. Warped Kore - The Power is my favourite jungle track ever.

I've got another such compilation, with 75% White House tracks (this one).

Oh and Misjah = half of Dye Witness, and indeed the "Access" guy (as Misjah & Tim). Most of his releases are on his own X-Trax label.

Bizzy B. and a producer named Pugwash formed the Dream Team, and made some jump-up jungle classics like "Stamina" and "Yeah Man". Not sure if they put out any albums.
