OK I only became aware of this yesterday. It's like, really funny and really creepy.

(has there really been a rumour persisting for the past 30 years that he died in a car crash in 1967?)

This rumour is old news. Pretty well-known stuff.

what about the conspiracy nuts who claim Geir Hongro died three months ago and was replaced by a clone?

Huckleberry Mann (Horace Mann), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, the winner of the 2003 Geir Hongro lookalike contest, a Mr "Ross Kemp", vanished soon afterwards, or so I heard.

Wasn't Geir the bass player in Klaatu?

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Thursday, 20 November 2003 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

After the Beeatlays got bloated, this schtick was the best thing about them.

I can never understand how most people seem to accept John Lennon's explanation that he was really saying "cranberry sauce" at the "Strawberry Fields Forever" fadeout.
No friggin' way. It's pretty clear to me that he was indeed saying "I buried Paul."

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmmm.. I have never watched "Eastenders", but I do see your point :-)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Make sure you listen to "Badwrong FalsePaul"

dave225 (Dave225), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

C'mon, tell us the TRUTH, Ringo!

christoff (christoff), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I love the given reason for their only being three strings on the bass on the cover of Sgt Pepper: "So the florist said, "I've got some flowers left over, do you want me to do a bass guitar", but he didn't have enough, so it just had three strings".

complete classic
one of the best marketing moves in the history of the industry

Felcher (Felcher), Thursday, 20 November 2003 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

The Beatles Anthology version clearly reveals "Cranberry Sauce". No one would ever have heard "I Buried Paul" unless they were told to.

Maxwell von Bismarck (maxwell von bismarck), Thursday, 20 November 2003 21:14 (twenty-one years ago)

"Turn Me On, Dead Man..."

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 20 November 2003 22:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Why are there so many Beatle threads today?

Well, I've been told it's "cranberry sauce" and it still sounds nothing like that to me. Where's the "cran"" Where's the "sauce"?

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Friday, 21 November 2003 14:16 (twenty-one years ago)

The bootleg version..

Cranberry sauce...Cranberry sauce...Alright calm down ringo...

(ringo thinks : it's not me saying cranberry sauce...)
