...largely based on the fact that Trevor Horn produced the new record. And it's pretty good — they're certainly not at a loss for craftmanship or tunes.

But am I the only one who still has trouble getting past Stuart Murdoch's Nick-Drake-With-A-Speech-Impediment vocal stylings? It's just so very precious...

Pwecious, you mean.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 21 November 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

HA! Yes, Ned. It's almost as if Murdoch had his front teeth and wristbones removed...

You money would be better spent on the new Fred Durst album.

I think they're one of the best bands in the world. Murdoch's singing is better with every album. "If She Wants Me" is a great vocal performance.

Also, there are some people who would like to know if Murdoch is indie.

I like the new album a lot although I don't like "Step Into My Office, Baby. "You Don't Send me" and "Wrapped Up in Books" are great. I love Stuart Murdoch's voice but that "Nick Drake with speech impediment" is fuckin' funny.

Has anyone heard Isobel Cambell's new album?
