From today's Los Angeles Times Metro section, front
page: "Police records...state that after the shooting Spector told his chauffeur, 'I think I killed somebody.' The chauffeur told
police Spector was carrying a gun at the time."

Spector waived his right to a speedy trial yesterday and his defense lawyer, Bob Shapiro -- one on the team that got O.J. Simpson off -- predicted his client would be found blameless.

Prosecutors said they would try Spector on a "theory of implied malice," alleging that he acted so dangerously that he was responsible for the shooting.

At the time of the crime, Spector was Tasered by the police for being uncooperative.

Famous industry flack and professional sycophant Bob Merlis said that he felt terrible about the whole thing: "I'm hoping that something comes out in court that will explain this and exonerate him."

Yes, of course, something like this: Lana Clarkson, a stranger to
Spector, had been plotting for months to entrap the Wagner of
rock in a murder beef. The nefarious plan involved enabling a suicide in which the unwitting Phil would take her to his mansion at 3:00
in the morning, be further enticed into brandishing a gun within
kissing distance of her, at which point Clarkson would suck the bullet out of it and into her head.

The author of a Spector biography said the producer was a shitheel as well as a famous musical genius. The author also predicted Spector would "skate."

Another fugleman said Spector had recently "started showing -- I hate to use the word 'human' -- but a warmer side."

It was said that Spector had a different gun to go with every change of clothes.

This just in from Bob Merlis:

Phil's long-time driver, "John Phillip" Souza, will be recording "I Can Hear Gunfire," a song in the vein of the great "I Can Hear Music." I can think of nothing better than this sweet tune to help alleviate the terrible anguish we suffer over Phil's predicament.
