Does this thing on C. Love have a thread yet?

My apologies if it already does. I did try a search.

I would never be one to defend Courtney Love, but this story is pretty over the top. Even for the Stranger. I guess the point is if someone doesn't have a career, then why waste that much space telling us they do?

Tasteful.

I'm tired of reading about how Courtney Love used to be entertaining almost as much as I am of reading about every time The Strokes go to the toilet. Nobody cares. Go do something productive.

What, the Strokes WENT TO THE TOILET?! Do tell.

Is Courtney Love really worth deconstructing anyway?
I didn't get much further than the first few paragraphs. And then I got bored. And changed the channel.

That really is the worst music writing I've read this year.

of course, if she does die in the next three days, we'll all have to bow down before them.
I think someone should start a magazine that does just this, every issue they write obits of people who are not dead. It could be called BAD TASTE or YELLOW JOURNALISM.

if someone reads past this introduction, which i found amusing, please let me know - mainly if these articles are worth reading. the best thing to come of this idea would be if, from this point on, no-one, anywhere, for any reason, wrote anything more about her.

You'd think somewhat would have had the foresight to do a pre-obit for Layne Staley...but maybe that's what brought this about.

Raymond Cummings (Raymond Cummings), Monday, 24 November 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

that should have read "someone," not "somewhat."
