one person picks a radio station or puts something on at work and then the rest either complain about or it don't.

I understand there's something called "American Idol" which I assume involves some sort of ritual and/or sacrifice. I'm a bit vague on the specifics since my TV broke and my exposure to modern music is limited to whatever radio signals I can pick up on my dental fillings.

Aren't those line dance crazes that pop up every couple years or so, some kind of ritual? Whenever the songs come on, people file out to the dance floor... it's weird. Like mass hypnotism. When I was in high school it was "The Electric Slide". *shudder* Then maybe later it was "the boot scootin' boogie" or "Macarena".
