Two new tracks, one is Plugged In from the Muzik CD, which was ace. And the other one is that old school piano track that they play called "Do It For Love", possibly their best track I reckon. I can't find it on slsk but I search on. Well worth a look.

is it a mix or whut then?

No just two new tracks under a different moniker, Jaxx style. I just recall Do It For Love from seeing them DJ, have about 14 seconds downloaded and it's already all coming back to me. It's basically a looped italo style piano and frank singing "I do it for love", a real set finishing sort of track.

It's actually a three-track white label 12", with a second one forthcoming. I've got a Source promo CD with all six tracks. Good stuff. Nu speed garage!

do you think the bullys are kind of hindered - inna "novelty record" sort of way, by the singer? i mean for future productions, if we're talking jaxx style.

Yeah a bit to be honest, I think they've got touches of that Groove Armada disease aswell, ie overproducing everything so it all has that sheen to it, for example Snow. It's a great track but if you look back at the old Roule stuff it ressembles there is a more organic disco feel, I'm not saying I'm a purist but I don't think that hyper scuzzy modern production works very well in house, maybe techno or electro moreso.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 17:06 (twenty-two years ago)

i think 'The Snow's production is flawless

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 27 November 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

as is 'Face In A Cloud' and 'The Things' - they can produce house, 2step and big beat all equally well ;)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 27 November 2003 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I love it but am not 100 percent on it, it almost sounds too machine like.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 November 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah i see that, i am not adverse to that synthetic glossiness though, presumably the technophile in me

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 27 November 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i have "do it for love" its completely musicslly fromualaic and predictable but somehow really really excellent. i dont have slsk.

jed (jed_e_3), Thursday, 27 November 2003 15:47 (twenty-two years ago)

musically formulaic*

jed (jed_e_3), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

ronan is bang OTM. 'do it for love' is fantastic, easily their best track. on soulseek etc. try looking under 'audio bullys homelands' and 'that piano thing', because @ homelands (as broadcast on radio 1 in may) they did 'do it for love' as the set closer but he called it 'that piano thing' like it was it's actual title.

piscesboy, Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i gotta hear this already

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 27 November 2003 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

i just did a search for this on limewire and came across a few copies.

jed (jed_e_3), Thursday, 27 November 2003 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah musically formulaic as in perfectly executed house cliche!

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 27 November 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah its really rather good.
