Hypothetical Scenario:
John Williams -- composer of many exciting and famous movie soundtrack marches and anthems -- falls backward into a timewarp.
He reappears into the year 1760* (which would turn him into a contemporary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart) and starts submitting his "modern"-styled movie music for public performance.
Would his music capture the imagination of the Classical world...or would his music be hated as broken, alien and weird?
Also: do you think any country would ask to take one of his 'choons for a National Anthem? (I think "The Imperial March" would fit Germany really well, especially circa 1938.)
*Note: Alternate versions of this scenario
1820 = makes Williams contemporary with Mendelsohn and Schubert.
1680 = makes Williams contemporary with Johann Sebastian Bach.
(I don't recommend going further back than that. The main title from Superman sounds like shit when played on a Harpsichord.)
(It's been awhile since we did an "Alternate Universe" thread...it was about time we did one.)
You may begin your attack run....now!
(and use the Force, ILxors.)
