It's actually a very nice song, but the delivery is very important. I wouldn't really call the lyric profound or anything.

Mos' has always had this "THERE ARE ISSUES THAT NEED RAISING THAT I AM THE MAN TO DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO" Achilles heel with his rhymes though. Just think about "New World Water" for a second. As long as he gives us a few bukka-bukkas on it he'll be fine.

It's stupid. I think most people have had it up to there with Mos Def's faux righteousness (so bothered about his community that he and Kweli bought a bookshop then asked the local people - with far less money than them - to pay for it to be kept open).

This is simply genius. When he says when the workin niggas cant find jobs means that the people who are usually working get laid off etc. I love this song very very much its my no.1 on my list right now.

Yeah those lyrics aren't so bad, in retrospect. Self righteous, sure, but after the election I can relate to all-over-the-place anger a lot better.
