Seeing the Buzzcocks for the first time tonight; am I wrong for expecting it to be great?

For some reason, I've passed on seeing them in '89, '96 or so, last year and earlier this year (I think they opened for Pearl Jam and played a somewhat largish hall in Chicago in the summer). One of my favorite bands that has somehow eluded my radar, live-wise, too.

Anyway, anyone seen them recently? Are they trying to "support" the new album at the expense of their classics? Any non-obvious (e.g. "Love Bites", "Spiral Scratch") stuff brought out?

Seen them about two dozen times since their first reunion shows in `89, and they are ALWAYS worth seeing.

Damn. I don't think I've seen anyone two dozen times, not even J0hn D's band.

Heading out in a minute and greatly looking forward to it...

Pete looks a little rounder in the middle. Diggle's still in fighting form, though.

So how was it, Baked Bean Teeth? I saw them in '92 and had a blast, but was dubious as to whether nostalgia had a shelf life, hence my not going to see them all of the times they've played in NYC since.

I saw them when they were supporting that Go-kart album and they were fine. Lots of Singles Going Steady stuff and the only new song that truly blew was a Diggle number that required a synth-drum.

I had about 2 too many beers so naturally it sounded amazing, like REALLY REALLY amazing. Pretty full-on sound a la A Different Kind of Tension, and boy can they still deliver. I kick myself for having missed them before. They played about 4 "new" tracks (or at least post-Parts 1-3, since I haven't heard any of their post-reunion records) and the rest was scattered across their catalog tho' heavy on Singles Going Steady material.

And M.O.T.O. opened, too! Paul Caporino channeling Dee Dee Ramone both in look and sound. Had to buy their new album as a result.
