"I Heard Her Call My Name" is one of my favorite Velvet Underground songs, and "LA Woman" is just another song by a band I mostly don't like.

Incompatible drug use confounds the research: "LA Woman" =Jack Daniels and pot, "I Heard Her Call My Name"=benzedrine and smack. To say nothing of the coastal divide. Impossible to isolate x-variable for comparison.

Likewise, "Hallogallo"=LSD and Swiss pharmaceutical-grade speed, "Melody Nelson"=Pernod and Gauloises. Remember these were pre-EU integration, so French and German meant something in those days.
