Mansun. I wouldn't say I love them, per se, but their first two albums had some cool stuff on them. The name, though, is crap (supposedly a truncation of a song by the Verve called "A Man Called Sun"). Whatever.

I seem to remember an early Mansun interview where they said that they were originally Manson but early-ish in their career EMI asked them to change their name on the grounds that they already had Charles Manson signed to them (in some vague'n'nebulous capacity) and they didn't wanted two Mansons on the same label. CRAZY TIMES.

(is it probable that they were making this up and I should maybe question what I read sometimes? really, have no idea)

i LOVE the instrumental doom/sludge band 5ive. i LOOOOOOve them. but that name. oh well. feel like they could have been bigger if they had been called Green Bonghorn or something. Greenweedface. Hevybongcretins. like, even those dumb names would be better cuz 5ive just reminds me of the 90s or something and who wants to be reminded of that? though they aren't from the 90s.
