We?

so i think we can all agree we's 'as is' is absolutely brilliant, far ahead of its time (came out in 1997), and criminally under-rated. also, 'square root of negative one,' in addition to having a horrible title, is absolute dogshit.

so now that people have been saying good things about the new dj olive solo album, i was wondering if anybody can tell me anything about any other we-affiliated projects worth tracking down.

also, feel free to disagree with the premise.

I remember interviewing one of the guys when Square Root came out -- friendly fellow. I thought that album was okay but if there's a much better I should be aware of...

I like the second album too, but I stopped after that one (I'm confused why it's absolute dogshit as it sounds almost exactly like the first one, same guests and all.) A couple of people have told me that both Olive and Loop's solo stuff is pretty good, but I don't remember any specific names. . .

the only stuff i heard by them was from the 'Asphodelic' compilation but i really liked it. they seem like the Crystal Method to Photek's Chemical Brothers, or something.

dj olive played on syr5 with kim gordon and o'rourke. have heard parts of it and it is decent. there are some remixes (medeski, martin and wood). i think olive has also played with zorn some? maybe cobra or something. i could be making that up though. i did really like "as is" never made it to the second one.
