"Dancing on the Ceiling" is most definitely about cocaine, right?

and of course, the "Sweetest Tabboo" is about butt sex. Right?

So where's the evil?

Sean (Sean), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 00:45 (twenty-one years ago)

The evil depends on us, obv. Which sounds happen in the next five seconds....

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 00:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought he meant evil in the sarcastic Elvis-shaking-hips-corrupts-our-youth sense

If there's one thing I've learned from ILM it's that "Hurts So Good" is about anal sex!

Sonny A. (Keiko), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 01:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Michael Jackson's "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)", which is about the uncontrollable vice for which he's become notorious....

...plastic surgery.

Stranglers - "Golden Brown" (heroin)

Schwingung (Damian), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 01:46 (twenty-one years ago)

"De Do Do Do De Da Da Da" = kinky people eating dirty baby diapers.

otto, Tuesday, 2 December 2003 01:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh, all kidding aside, I love "Golden Brown" -- the greatest love song ever written in 13/8. Schwingung, props for compelling me to dig it out for a listen, and you get bonus points if your handle refers to the Ash Ra Tempel album.

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 02:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I've lost count of the number of innocent popsongs supposedly about heroin - There She Goes, Perfect Day, Another Girl Another Planet ect ect ect

bham, Tuesday, 2 December 2003 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Nom De Plume - my nick does sort of refer to that album, but I was thinking of a quote from Michael Karoli about Jaki Liebezeit as well when I adopted this name. He called him a "Schwingungserzeuger" (vibe generator). I've only heard bits of Schwingungen actually, but I quite like Join Inn, and on another tangent, New Age Of Earth is classic. But I digress.

Schwingung (Damian), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 09:59 (twenty-one years ago)

"Down Boy" - Holly Valance

"There's just some things I just won't do"

Such as?

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

...sleep with mark grout

The Spotlight Kid (kid), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Every song you heard when you were young and then you got older and realised 'so THAT'S what it's about!' to thread. I can't think of many right now.

Schwingung (Damian), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Reversed: Cody Chesnutt's 'The Seed' which seems to be about adultery, but is really just about playing rock'n'roll when you're 'supposed' to be an r&b artist.

Jay Kid (Jay K), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Frankie Goes To Hollywood to thread

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I always thought Andy Kim's "Rock Me Gently" was about anal sex.

I.e., "Take it easy, don't you know / that I have never been loved like this before."

Joseph McCombs, Tuesday, 2 December 2003 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Girls Aloud - Jump (For my Love)

"I'll take you down where no-one's ever gone before."

Hmm, yeah rrrright....

Nick H (Nick H), Tuesday, 2 December 2003 21:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll do it anyway you want it, even take it like a man

Toni Basil, "Mickey"

Ben Dot (1977), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:41 (twenty-one years ago)

all this talk about buttsex and no-one's mentioned "tunnel of love" yet?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:42 (twenty-one years ago)

and Andy Kim looked like a huge fudgepacker

Clay Aiken's "Invisible," which I just started a thread about so qualifies.

If I was invisible
Then I could just watch you in your room
If I was invisible
I'd make you mine tonight

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:53 (twenty-one years ago)

my mom used to listen to Soft Cell's " Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret" all the time when i was growing up. I listened to the tape after years of knowing the songs and melodies and I freaked that she'd listen to that 'filth' with a wee lad in the car. i even asked her about it recently and she didn't realize how dirty the lyrics were

JaXoN (JasonD), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 01:06 (twenty-one years ago)

she never noticed the words SEX DWARF???

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 01:08 (twenty-one years ago)

i have all these weird memories of being perverted at a young age. everytime i hear one of the songs from Fast Times at Richmont High I think of being a little boy in the theater and covering my eyes when Jennifer Jason Leigh gets all nakey (or whomever it was?)

also some Depeche Mode song reminds me of this film called Summer Lovers where a guy and two girls go to Europe and make three way woopie all summer

JaXoN (JasonD), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 03:05 (twenty-one years ago)

how come i don't know when to use whomever instead of whoever?

JaXoN (JasonD), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 03:08 (twenty-one years ago)

who=subject
whom=object
"Who are you"?
"Give it to whom"?
"Whoever you are, stop looking at Phoebe Cates."
"Give your bikini top to whomever you like."

dlp9001, Wednesday, 3 December 2003 03:18 (twenty-one years ago)
