I was blown away 10 seconds into the first track. I'm reviewing Nozzle. Asphodel put it out. No one's heard this yet? Listen to it with earphones on. It's mesmerizing. Lets discuss.

Dark, chaotic, evil avant ambient? I'm sure there's a genre name but I haven't heard one. It's like he grinds up the waveforms, eats them, waits til they're soaked in bile and then spits them back at you. There's no rhythm or structure, just total deconstruction. Parts of it are really creepy.

I won't say he's a Xenakis derivative but other people do. And even if he I get convinced he is, I'd still respect his work.

Asphodel claims: Nozzle is based on iterative functional synthesis and asynchronous granular synthesis, which involves developng musical structures by manipulating interactions at the sound partical level.

it's a good record. I wouldn't say particularly xenakis derivative, but that's a good reference point, if you like his later digital pieces.
