Has he become more rockist lately, or is he just better when talking about popcult of his childhood as vs. today's?

when he's arguing for a rehabilitation of r&b as an object of study he gets so fucking holier-than-thou about not only "pop crap" but also "nu-soul turning into pop crap" but he's so GOOD on other genres?

50 could only be this generations robert johnson if he were a lyrically more interesting rapper and if he got killed. tupac meets more johnson criteria.
