Looking at Rockist Scientist's list, I was reminded of the CD I most covet. Can anyone tell me why, out of all Tim Buckley's albums, and with additional live performances released almost annually, Starsailor remains out of print on CD?

Perhaps because a crappy band took their name from it?

For the same reason that Captain Beefheart's Lick My Decals Off Baby is out of print on cd. Only, I don't know what that reason is. Something to do with ownership of the Straight catalog, presumably.

The great thing is that if Starsailor actually heard the album, they would probably explode.

We can but hope.

seven months pass...
well part of it is available on the tim buckley comp on rhino. "moulin rouge" is pretty bad, i hope there's nothing else like that on the lp.

It looks like both this and 'Blue Afternoon' are out of print.
Baffling and frustrating.

I like 'mouling rouge' but I think its the weakest track on the album (could be stronger if it was available on one of his other albs but i don't know about that).

i find the beatles' "michelle" more charming because paul is really trying to sound like an english guy who just knows a little french but is doing his best to pronounce it right. buckley is going for some horrible exaggeration cabaret pidgin french. you can feel him twirling a fake moustache.
