There has to be someone out there who perhaps could hear at one time, was a musician, went deaf, but continued either writing or playing music (or both).

apparently no deaf people have the skills to play pop music, but plenety have the skills to be great classical musicians. pop must be harder to play!

or, conversely, pop music requires hearing ability because of the high likelihood that one of the other musicians is off-key/off-tempo. There are certainly pop bands I've played in where I WISHED that I couldn't hear the other members. though.
