Oops, it's called Karma, not Diary.

Not usually my type o' thing, but I don't mind her new single ("You Don't Know My Name"?)

Alicia Keys has a decent voice, but she can't write worth a crap. She should sing other people's songs.

I dunno. Like I said, I quite like the single, except for the spoken word cell-phone part where she cops the "can you hear me now?" line. Great piano hook, though.

jesus,i have to hear this based on that comparison,if only out of curiosity...

It's a terrific single, and the ridiculous long cell-phone skit in the middle was initially irritating but grew on to become charming. I have the long version. Haven't heard it et, but i think critics are consciously tempering their praise for this album, despite how good it may be. Like how did that RS review = 3 stars?

I think it's the best ting she's done. Phone convo w/a mute Mos Def and all.

Great video too, but why do they push over that lovely crockery-loaded wooden chest. HAVE THE HIP-HOP THUGZ HAVE NO RESPECT FOR QUALITY CARPENTRY???

Out of the new R&B generation, Alicia Keys is the one I respect most. Guess her musicianship has to do with the fact that the lady is a skilled piano player.

The album is really good, pleasant surprise for me.
