Who cares about Pitchfork...(not me)

Just a minor rant/whinge...from the original super-slack poster himself...just annoyed at the amount of free publicity Pitchfork gets on these boards, when I don't even read the damn thing. Also I resent the assumption that most people do read Pitchfork who come to ILM.
rant over...

Maimonides (Maimonides), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

how abt ignoring the damn threads then. like i do.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

heh good idea..but it's when threads descend into anal analysis of some obscure Pitchfork writer/review..hard to avoid.

Maimonides (Maimonides), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

tired of an overexposed topic? start another thread about it! great idea!

Al (sitcom), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

heh, I see the irony in doing it trust me....

Maimonides (Maimonides), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Every time you start a thread about Pitchfork, a Stylus writer dies.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Pitchfork threads make the baby Jesus cry!

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I bet that if you google "Pitchfork", ILM comes up first.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course, I don't really...

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:39 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, never bet until you know the spread.

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

pitchfork gave one of my favourite new bands a really good review. so I'm on their side, fuckos!

HuckleberryMann, Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

what band?

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Who was it? The Darkness?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:45 (twenty-two years ago)

the Unicorns

Actually, I'm totally ambivalent about p'fork. I like it sometimes, I don't like it sometimes. If I had to pay for it, I probably wouldn't. But it's there, it's free, it's usually at least interesting if not reflective of my opinion. But we don't really read CD reviews just to see someone affirm beliefs we alread hold, or do we?

HuckleberryMann, Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

i like their news column

the surface noise (electricsound), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:48 (twenty-two years ago)

we need more threads about pitchfork.

fiddo centington (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:49 (twenty-two years ago)

if this stuff about stylus writers and baby jesus is true.

fiddo centington (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:50 (twenty-two years ago)

isn't posting a pitchfork thread decrying pitchfork threads like fucking for virginity?

notfazed (notfazed), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:51 (twenty-two years ago)

And there were three wise Stylus writers who came from the East and lo they bore Darkness albums as gifts to the baby Saviour. And the infant Jesus did laugh and puked up and weed on the writers, and they were stank.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

They are good for Ebay tips, maybe the best source there is.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:52 (twenty-two years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Maimonides (Maimonides), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Flattering, but can I be the Marc Almond of the Bible?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 14 December 2003 23:57 (twenty-two years ago)

sorry, Ned, I already inscribed that last post on two stone tablets.

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:05 (twenty-two years ago)

And the Lord spake saying, "The takeover, the break's over nigga, God MC, me, Jay-Hova."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:07 (twenty-two years ago)

ebay tips? elaborate

They always make sure to recommend the Ebay resale value of certain limited-edition/rare releases in their news section. Not that I'd ever condone ripping off gullible, fairweather indie fans for their parent's cash.

(Keep it up guys, at this rate I might even quit the day job!)

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:07 (twenty-two years ago)

so god FINALLY gives a shout out back to his niggaz?

notfazed (notfazed), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I admit this sidetrack is far more interesting than thinking about Pitchfork.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:10 (twenty-two years ago)

blaaah enuff of the biblical stuff I used to teach this stuff..(ex Religious Studies teacher..), tho' you are right it is way way more interesting than Pitchfork...

Maimonides (Maimonides), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:14 (twenty-two years ago)

We could rewrite the Upanishads or the Koran?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a better idea! Scientology scripture always fun, L Ron Hubbard was definetly a perverted genius when it came to religion..

Maimonides (Maimonides), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

are there any famous scientologist musicians? I can only think of actors offhand...

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Monday, 15 December 2003 00:30 (twenty-two years ago)
