As one example of many.

but except for the Dwarves, the names of the bands necessarily spoils the misleadingosity.

True...names like Crucifucks and Circle Jerks sorta give the game away, but I'm concentrating more on the imagery.

I don't know if the FNM one is so much ironic as enigmatic. I mean, the heron isn't exactly a whimsical or inviting image (he looks a bit scary, no?)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 15 December 2003 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

you're right, i was thinking that myself. but considering the back of the cover (with the slaughtered birds, cows etc), i put it there anyway. and hey - any excuse for posting a FNM cover will do for me.

Very few of the covers so far are misleading, because cheesy innocent-looking retro covers usually mean some sort of rock music of greater/lesser offensiveness. And the girl on the dwarves cover has a tattoo.

fletrejet, Monday, 15 December 2003 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

And that anal cunt album was not misleading because that was their "nice", non-offensive album.

fletrejet, Monday, 15 December 2003 20:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Their name is still Anal Cunt, however.
