1960 - pick one track and pass on the baton till a CDR700 of stuff is made

I think this is possibly an interesting way of coming up with a list of stuff for a year so long ago.

Please don't be greedy - stick to just one track. I am dying to list a few but the whole point of this thread is to not to do this. Maybe if the thread's been dead for a few weeks and there's still a track you want on there then a round 2 could begin.

Same rules as the CDR700 threads apply:

- Stick to things that first got a release in 1960
- No more than one track per artist. Tough luck if someone got there first with a track choice you disagree with.

OK - my choice:

'Sixteen Reasons' - Connie Stevens

RE: "Giant Steps." I thought that was '59, but maybe I'm wrong.

My choice: Charlie Rich, "Lonely Weekends," which seems right for people into making mix tapes/CDs.

dylan (dylan), Thursday, 18 December 2003 19:10 (twenty-one years ago)

"Giant Steps" was recorded in '59, released in '60. The AMG and some other online discographies tend to list jazz records by recording date rather than release, so sometimes specific years are tricky.
