This is the thread where you SING FOR THE MODERATOR!

Hi.

The moderator hierarchy on ILE is having a bit of a shake-up. One result of this is that different people are likely to be mods here and on ILE. It strikes me as a good idea to have a separate thread for moderator alerts that concern ILM.

In general ILM is marvellously free of difficulties that need moderation, even if it's being unfriendly, so I doubt this will be needed much. Read the FAQ for details of when moderator action is appropriate (deletions, lockings, rogue HTML, spammers etc.) and the Admin Log to keep tabs on the mods. There are 17 mods for ILM currently so it shouldn't be long before any neccessary action gets taken.

"jealous moderators..."

Perhaps the admin log maybe should be seperated by board.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 18 December 2003 21:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Just a quick administrative note, please don't post stuff to this thread unless you need something, so we don't have to wade through general chitchat to get to the actual moderation requests. As fun as the singing above is, it would really make life a lot easier for everyone concerned.

Umm, fair enough I guess, but the thread did say sing....

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 19 December 2003 09:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Moderators, please to be locking the Dave Matthews thread, it's impossible to use, and it might actually collapse in on itself and form a black hole.

two weeks pass...
I hav been incredibly stupid and posted a Q to ILM (Lets all laugh at the yanks - UKTV Subgenre) that was meant for ILE.

Can you help redeem this idiocy?

Thanking you

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 5 January 2004 14:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Look down to "Moderation Request". That's how it's done nowadays...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 5 January 2004 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

The mod request board was meant to just be for ILE - it's a pain in the arse to check it to be honest.

I'll delete it Enrique.

Much obliged!

hello moderators. the Pseudo Echo thread is currently ungoogleable. any chance of turning on indexing or whatever it is that you guys do so it'll come up in a google search? that would mean a lot to me. thanks!

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 19 January 2004 02:56 (twenty-two years ago)

he is keen for the actual members of pseudo echo to be able to google and see this towering monument to their genius.

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:02 (twenty-two years ago)

ching ching!

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:04 (twenty-two years ago)

How do I become a moderator?

C-Man (C-Man), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:25 (twenty-two years ago)

by starting your own board

the surface noise (electricsound), Monday, 19 January 2004 03:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Remember that not all threads are in the Google DB, for whatever reason. I went and submitted this one to Google manually just so the band can check it out if they want; not sure how long it'll take to get a spider round these parts though.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Monday, 19 January 2004 04:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry to Mr. Darnielle and others if my jokes on the tour thread were a bit too extreme causing it to be locked. Do what you need to do.

Le Coq (DarrenK), Monday, 19 January 2004 06:51 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
just for the record (as I haven't seen anything since dan's post last night): was stelfox's thread deleted?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Monday, 1 March 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)
