VICTORIA, BC — The City of Victoria is proud to proclaim Wednesday, March 21 as Nelly Furtado Day. “We are thrilled to welcome home Victoria’s own Nelly Furtado!” said Mayor Lowe in making the announcement. “While Nelly has reached the apex of international music stardom, she continues to enjoy a special relationship with Victoria and has maintained close ties to this community. We all take great pride in her accomplishments and in claiming her as one of our own,” he added.

In recognition of her tremendous achievements, the City will be officially proclaiming March 21 as Nelly Furtado Day.....

While "No Hay Igual" and "Say It Right" were 2 of my favourite singles last year (actually the other 4! singles were pretty great as well), whatever sexiness points Nelly earns for putting them out is mitigated by the fact that whenever she opens her mouth and she is not singing, she is hideously grating. It's high rise terminal hell. And that laugh! It can kill hamsters.

yeah she has one of those segments on MTV Hits where she picks her favorite videos and talks about them and christ, she looks and sounds like a Long Island soccer mom. her speaking voice is nearly Kelis-level annoying, and honestly her singing voice isn't that much better.
