Cold Chisel? No.

they seem to be a D.C. indie band from the mid-nineties. Ted Leo was a member.

"On Warmer Music" is one of my favorite songs of all time. No joke.

I saw them live once in a record store in Indy. Pretty fun, not as fun as the Steve Kowalski Army, which was a local band that had pretty much the same sound.

Record stores never seemed to have any of their records and didn't get around to picking one up.

Chisel was just mentioned on another thread last week, but yeah, both of their proper albums (8 AM All Day and Set You Free) are good pop albums. The Nothing New EP is skippable unless you really like them a lot. I prefer Chisel to solo Ted Leo, and I think it's because of the harmonies.

I am speechless that someone else here referenced Steve Kowalski Army!

"Can't Find London," 'tis a nice mod toon, innit?

The SK Army was great. "Can't Find London" was on the orange tape, right? My copy of that has been gone for years. I've still got a local comp that has one of their tunes. I'd love to have a CD with their recordings. I also used to have that 7"s that had a great song by Jake called "Live Alone and Like It".

I saw them a few times with Jake and my bands played with SK a couple times and saw them a bunch after Brent took over on bass.

They played a reunion show in Indy last New Years Eve with the Zero Boys, but I didn't get to go and check it out.

Tom Shover has a new band in a similar vein, my friends in Indy have played with them and says they are really good.

Chisel is one of my favorite bands ever. I caught a two night stand in college of Chisel-Lungfish-Fugazi at 1st Ave. in Twin Cities and it remains one of my most memorable concertgoing experiences ever. Highly recommended! Also, they really should put out a collection of Chisel's 7"s and rare tracks... those are some of their best songs!
