For all you honky-tonkers out there...the great '70s country artist Gary Stewart is dead (Dec. 16), apparent suicide, at 58. His wife of many years died not long ago.

Gary Stewart: "Out of Hand," "Drinkin' Thing," "She's Actin' Single (I'm Drinkin' Doubles)," his masterpiece, "Single Again," and do not forget "Big Bertha, the Truck-Driving Queen," "The Snuff Queen," and the essential truckin' song "Caffein (sic), Nicotine, Benzedrine."

One of the greatest singers ever and perhaps the single greatest live act I've ever seen. Besides the above, search: "Shady Streets," "I Had to Get Drunk Last Night," "Honky Tonk Man," and a heart-stopping unreleased demo of "Harlan County Highway."

GARY WILL TRULEY BE MISSED... LOVED HIM AND HIS MUSIC VERY MUCH ...HE ALWAYS TOOK TIME FOR HIS FANS... ALWAYS PUT ON A GREAT SHOW... HIS MUSIC IS NO LONGER IN DEMAND BY THE YOUNG PEOPLE OF TODAY .... BUT WE OLDER FOLKS HIS AGE WILL TRULEY MISS HIM....
