Taking Sides: Nas vs. Jay-z

Let's mutate this into a Jay-Z: Search & Destroy, how 'bout it? _The Blueprint_ is fantastic (duh), and his guest appearance on the remix of Missy's "One Minute Man" kicks the crap out of Ludacris' cunning linguistics. "No Ralph Tresvant / No Ronnie Romance". So, where should I go now? And where should I NOT go?

Search The Life and Times of Sean Carter and The Blueprint. Both definitive, awesome, flawless, essential. There's a lot of good stuff on the Hard Knock Life album as well.

Search: The Blueprint, especially "Takeover", Vols 2 and 3.

Destroy: "Hard Knock Life", which made me actively hate Jay-Z for a while.

2) All of Jay-Z's albums have something to offer, although the three to get are probably 2, 3 and Blueprint, as people have been saying.

3) Ludacris' guest appearance on "One Minute Man" was clearly the best thing ever. As in, ever.

Didn't nobody have no bad words to say about Jay until all the Money, Cash, Hoes,Platinum albums. Hit after hit, start hitting. first off, just because Nas didn't agree to the pay per view thing doesn't mean that he's a lesser MC. It might indicate that he can't freestyle like Jay, but that's only part of the game.

secondly, i understand him not doing summer jam. Shit, last year Jay got up there and took shots at him and Prodigy. Why can't Nas get his revenge?

And yeah...Nas is the most contradictory person ever...but, I have a feeling that God's Son is going to blow Blueprint 2 outta the water.

Jay-Z on the other hand just bores and annoys the piss outta me. Why oh why is it that so many mediocre-at-best emcees manage to reign supreme in "the charts"!?!?

That tells it all. Commercial bullshit sells to people who think like that. Jay-Z knows that but that isn't the issue. Jigga calls himself the f**kin "King of New York." He says he betta than Nas and that's where he f**ks up at. Just because it shines brighter doesn't make it better. I would never hate on the nigga cuz as far as I can see, he's at the top of the game and he deserves everything he has.
Bottom line he's not the best rapper. Put the nigga in Platinum Air Force laced with diamonds and he's still wack on the mic. The nigga will never be at Nas's level. That's why Jigga can't be humble on da mic. He knows that's lyrical he has no depth and he hasn't really dropped anything that deserves much respect. If a man is respected for his Air Force 1s then is he really respected?!! It's like Jay-Z says himself "where were y'all at when we were being sued by everyone?" People got respect for his money because that's what America is measured by but as for his music, 70 percent of it is wack. Behind the scenes I think Jigga deserves a lot of respect becuz of where he's come from and he's where he's made it too. A lot of niggas blinded by dollar signs don't know he does a lot for the projects and charity. Air Force 1s don't earn real respect. As I said before go out and get "The Gift and the Curse" and "God's Son" but take them for what they are. Doesn't Really matter which you like more. These are two hot artists. I hear a lot of interesting rap when cars stop near the intersection where I live. I occasionally hear eighties classics and Spanish pop music. The rap seems out of the mainstream (under development). Sometimes I think kids are practicing raps they want to release as they walk with earbuds.
