He would be 67 on Friday. WPFW 89.3 in DC (and online) is doing a Hendrix special all day today.

And of course it wouldn't be WPFW (a Pacifica station that sometimes likes to air very far to the left wacky theories) without having an interview with some guy who claims Hendrix was waterboarded and killed

This seems like as good a place as any to ask what live Hendrix I should seek out. I'm a huge fan of Woodstock and (especially) Berkeley and bits of Monterey and Band of Gypsies. I think Rainbow Bridge is mush and Isle of Wight sounds like a condemned man. Where does one go from here?

OK - this is tough. I'm a complete Hendrix freakazoid. It will cause psychic pain not to mention some of his toonz, but here goes:
Stone Free - Live at Fillmore East, BOG versionBold as Love - AxisMachine Gun - Band of Gypsies1983 - Electric LadylandVoodoo Chile [Slight Return] - Berkeley, In the West versionBurning of the Midnight Lamp - Electric LadylandRU Experienced - RU ExperiencedLove or Confusion - RU ExperiencedLittle Wing - In the WestHey Baby - First Rays/Rainbow Bridge
My skin is crawling due to the absence of The Wind Cries Mary, RU Experienced [the Jimi Hendrix Concerts version], Red House [In the West], Angel, Room Full of Mirrors, Manic Depression [RU Xperienced], Castles Made of Sand, All Along the Watchtower [Electric Ladyland & Isle of Wight], etc..........
