Which box set are you lookin to get your hands on.

i absolutely need this. im also thinking about getting the carter family box from the same label. i dont know if im cheating with this because the cds might not actuall all come in a box. nevertheless, it is required for sustaining my life.

I just ordered the "Goodbye, Babylon" box on Dust to Digital, thanks in part to a recommendation by D. Wolk on his blog.

do you know if all alan lomax's stuff is collected in a single box set. ive got vol. 1 and 8 of the southern journey series and almost every track contains some sort of revelation.

AFAIK, there is no definitive Lomax collection. The Southern Journey series is something I want to eventually have all of -- the Alabama one was amazing in parts. And what I've heard of the Partchman Farm "Prison Songs" was up my alley as well. It's just so daunting seeing the reach of what/where Lomax documented, though...he could conceivably have a 100-disc box.
