My girlfriend's dancing around the living room to a mix CD of about 12 versions of this song, mixed together, one after the other. It's party time at my house.

We don't know! But these versions sound to me like they span the range from the 80's to the late 90's. Put together by a local DJ, Steve Sonius. He has done us a great service, and we owe him our souls.

It'll be SO alanis later on tonight when you pop a nut off in 28 seconds.

Darren, where I come from that means I lose a testicle. I'm sure that's not what you meant?

Now I think about it, though, Alanis is the kind of woman who might yield a butcher's knife against my manhood, should I offend her.

harking back to the time, i seem to remember that "Two Tribes" came out as a different mix literally every week, each new mix replacing the previous week's. I suppose it encouraged multiple purchases, but leads to the question about which mix was the "real" one.

Have i gone mad or does this ring bells with anyone else?

The original 7 inch mix of "Two Tribes" was the real one. Easily.

Besides, I think most of those mixes were special 12 inch versions. They did also include a new mix on "Now 3" (the original Now 3, that is) though.

Plus of course the new mix on the "Welcome To The Pleasure Dome" album, but that one was a lengthy one that wouldn't have fit on a 7 inch single.

six years pass...

how weird is it that "Relax" is in Red Stripe commercials! does RS work like poppers?
