I actually found this really tough. Side question: it seemed like half the tracks on Pretty Together were horrific, uninspired takes on the usual reference horsecrap, but the other half were a return to the first two albums' kind of sentimental straightforwardness. Action Pact hasn't been released yet here, but can anyone tell me if the album improves on Pretty Together?

The Parka's aren't that good. Action Pact is an improvement on Pretty Together but not much. Jay's songs still kick butt but there is only two. Thankyfully there is less stadium rawk.

Action Pact goes full on for Kiss/AC-DC riff-rock. Chris and Pat wrote most of the album, with the only full on pop gem being Jay's 'False Alarm', which the initial guitar riff is worth owning the album for. Andrew contributes no songs at all. There are a few duds (Backstabbin', Who Loves Life More, Reach Out).
