Which is the greatest thread?

I say we decide who wins and then make a final and a third/fourth place play off. Madonna or Janet and her sickly orange face would kick Nas around.

Clearly they're the two greatest threads in ILM history.

But equally clearly Jay-Z/Nas is better, because the argument is more debatable, contains more 2Pac quotations and freestyling, and has way more random posters finding their way in. Plus an entertaining cultural contrast between genteel ILM regulars and scruffy hip-hop- love newcomers.

But the mysteries: how are they all getting here? Google probably? Or a link from somewhere? And why have none of them started related threads? Or posted to other threads? I'd like to get EaSt SiDe LoVeR's thoughts on Fennesz, or at least Nelly.

Madonna vs Janet of course. I have zero interest in Jay-Z and Nas.

Scattering links to other threads into Jay/Nas might help. That thread's obviously been linked to somewhere, though.

Tom, Thursday, 20 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes its been linked to harlem

Ronan, Thursday, 20 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i have never heard Jay-Z or Nas .

Jay-Z and Nas is clearly much funnier. As Ian said, Madonna/Janet isn't even a debatable point (not that Jay-Z/Nas is, come on now) and was really only a debate between two people then a debate between everyone and Mr. Shouty. Jay-Z/Nas, on the other hand, is an old skool throw-down between multiple sources.

I bought Jay Zs album on sunday, it was only ten pounds and I got up hungover to drive to the record store and buy Spiritualized. I wasnt going to buy it but then all the things you crazy fans said started spinning round my head and I had enough money to buy both so I got it. I do like it, even if track 5 makes me want to break something.........not in a good way.

i have never heard Jay-Z or Nas.

So? Why should that stop you from posting there? Comment on the commentary, if you have to. Or put forth your own vision, your own posture, your own freestyle.

I didn't realise the Jay-Z/Nas thread was still going on. It's hilarious! Where did all those people come from? ...And where have they gone? I want to know what they think of St. Etienne - S&D...

i don't feel strongly enuff about jay-z or nas to care about that thread. but shit, the janet/madonna thread kept me entertained for a while, especially that sean guy's posts.
