Does anyone know where I can download Railroad Jerk "Bang The Drum" from or can anyone send it me by MSN Messenger etc?
I've got the 7" single but my system was robbed about a year ago and I've not been able to find it on any p2p thingies. Cheers for any help.

i'm sure soulseek will have it. i seem to remember some of the b -sides on that cd single being very good - "Home = Hang" is on there, right?

Cheers Mr Adultery. I've just downloaded Soulseek and have two versions in the queue to download. I'd only tried WinMX and Kazaa and failed to get one file even for just Railroad Jerk.
The single I've got has just "Highway 80" on the b-side, but I can't remember how it goes. Just had a look for the CD single and that has the above two and: "Why Don't We Do It In The Road", "Home = Hang". "All Down Hill", & "In My Face".
Thanks for the pointer anyway, it'll bring back some good memories hearing it again.
Is Soulseek more of an indie based programme then?

i have this cd-single, and i really love it.
are there other railroad jerk songs or records worth seeking out?

Moston- slsk does indeed rule, almost as much as Audiogalaxy did.

Joan - all of RRJ's albums have enough songs to recommend them, I happen to like all of them and am befuddled as to why they never get their due. Great band. Start with Raise the Plow, probably...

thanks roger. were they always on matador?

joan vich (joan vich), Friday, 2 January 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

All of their albums are/were on Matador.
They have a bunch of singles not though. Check out also the "Milk the Cow" double 7", and if ya don't know by now, White Hassle is Marcellus Hall's new band. They're latest album has been released in France and Japan, but not in the Good Old U.S. of A. for some reason.

"Milk the Cow" was on PCP.

White Hassle > Railroad Jerk

White Hassle's definitely more consistently good than Railroad Jerk, but that was also something that I liked about RRJ, they didn't seem all obsessed with being good.

three months pass...
Marcellus Hall diary on Slate.

I just got that email too!

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't get an email, I just saw it on Slate. Slow chemical news day.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe I'm the only one on the White Hassle mailing list.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

probably the only one in Saskatchewan, yeah.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

So you're saying I should move, right?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Monday, 26 April 2004 19:48 (twenty-one years ago)

not necessarily. But I'd guess there are more White Hassle fans in, say, NYC than Regina.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry about the "dumbass" earlier, btw. It was in jest.

hstencil, Monday, 26 April 2004 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

that's okay, it was a dumbass thing of me to post. and I don't take a whole lot to heart on ILM/X.

pretty average blog type stuff so far. should be some good stuff following White Hassle's show at the Knitting Factory tonight (or last night as time zones go).

Also, I just got the Railroad Jerk cdEP/CDsingle whatever of Sauberes Hemd, which is "Clean Shirt" (the first track off their last album, The Third Rail) in German. My brother found it on a trip to a big city and picked it up for me. You know you're a dorky-ass-fan when you own a foreign language version of a song.
But I feel no shame.
