(A question born out of simple curiosity w/ no point to make, honest!)

Either I d'l the whole the thing, or just three or four the tracks allmusic.com tells me to.

Yes, I often I need to hear the whole thing! Yes, I am a prisoner of authorial intention!

i do but i usually delete them! the ones on the last Outkast album are pretty worthless i feel

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 23:06 (twenty-one years ago)

they should start including them at the end of proper tracks rather than as separate bits

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 January 2004 23:07 (twenty-one years ago)

someone should compile a CD-R of the all time greatest skits.

Is there a thread about this? there must be.

Not unless it's an album I would think of buying anyway. I like the Ludacris skits like "Rob Quarters" and "The Black Man's Struggle" (the latter is pretty classic, really).

are any of the skits ever that great nik?

There's a very funny one on the Lyrics Born CD, but it goes on so long that it may as well be a song.

One day I might try to burn a new version of De La Soul is Dead, just to see if it really is one of the great song albums of the nineties, only it's hard to tell under all that clutter.

yeah it's my innate rockist

Eisbär (llamasfur), Sunday, 4 January 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, so I realize there's probably many excellent and
funny skits on rap albums that I am missing. But the fact is, it's
not worth wading through the other 99% of skits which REALLY
EFFING SUCK.

I wouldn't download 'em if I downloaded. Even if they're funny once or twice, they start to pall. That said, Missy's random babbling on 'Under Construction' in re: Old Skool values, 9/11 and Aaliyah is urgent and key.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 5 January 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Also it's part of the 'proper' track Enrique so no escape anyway.

I download them fwiw.

Did De La Soul include their skits on the vinyl versions of their albums? Cos they like double the length.
