Avoid Vanilla Sky.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 5 January 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

cherry five, is that the pre-goblin band? please inform when you DL it.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Monday, 5 January 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Really avoid the Mars Volta, I downloaded it out of curiosity and... ugh, ugh, it's horrible.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 5 January 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I liked Nick Southall when he was still underground. Sellout.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 5 January 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Vanilla Sky is bad until you get to the end and it's like woah - i ended up kind of liking it! perhaps the SPanish original Abierto Los Ojos or whatever it's called would be worth hunting down instead?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 5 January 2004 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

It was the end that particularly pissed me off, stevem!

Dom - I'm keeping it real for the Oakland Walk massive, thank you.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 5 January 2004 13:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Radiohead bit only tolerable part of 'Vanilla Sky'.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 5 January 2004 13:12 (twenty-one years ago)

oh the 'Good Vibrations' bit does it for me

stevem (blueski), Monday, 5 January 2004 13:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Watch "Open Your Eyes" in lieu of "Vanilla Sky", mos def.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 5 January 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

It was the end that particularly pissed me off, stevem!

Same here. How many more times can a series of events be neatly summed up with *that* twist?

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Monday, 5 January 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I fucking hate it. Can people just not deal with oddness at all?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 5 January 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, I couldn't really work out what in the hell was going on. Like Kurt Russell banging on about all this sub-anti-reality-TV stuff while at the top of a way high skyscraper. It was all a coma dream or something? Whatever.

Oh no, I'm banging Cameron Diaz.

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 5 January 2004 14:01 (twenty-one years ago)

"So, like, what happened, Tom, is that you died in that crash, right, but you're rich, right, so we froze your head (it was all that was left) and pumped images into it of you shagging Cameron Diaz to keep you entertained for 100 years, and all this confusion is cos the software needed updating, and the whole film has been about your coma-dream apart from the first ten minutes which was just before you died. So, like, it's like Sixth Sense only more high-concept."

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 5 January 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

heh, it was a handy excuse for some really appalling dialogue between Cruise and Cruz as well (it's a dream! you can get away with saying stuff like that in dreams!)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 5 January 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Or Middle Earth.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 5 January 2004 14:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Holy shit, I hate Nick Southall.
You completely ruined that movie for me.
You bastard, I will never read you again.
And I'm not even kidding.

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 07:13 (twenty-one years ago)

And although the movie may have sucked, that is
an awesome concept.

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 07:14 (twenty-one years ago)

a tired concept really. it's just the wizard of oz for the modern world. i kinda wished that when he got to the roof, he wouldve realized that he's just a fucking loon and that the whole bit about being in a coma, etc. was never true and under the guilt of killing his wife he just jumped off the building and splattered on the concrete. that wouldve made it a good movie, or at least a decent one.

Felcher (Felcher), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 17:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I was trying to save you two hours in which you could enjoy yourself.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 6 January 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

two years pass...
You're right, it sucked. Thanks for the effort.

Squirrel_Police (Squirrel_Police), Thursday, 7 September 2006 02:33 (eighteen years ago)

Hahahahaha
