the best of Aaron Funk (Venetian Snares)

I'm really getting into Venetian Snares recently. Downloading that Ultra Higgins album and a lot of it rules. I'd go so far as to say he's the new saviour of Aphex-style electronica, however he does seem to suffer from Squarepusher-syndrome in that he is very prolific but with little quality control. Like Tom Jenkinson he's released whole albums with only one or two outstanding tracks while the rest just seem to be lost even on my well-honed IDM ears.

So let's compile a best of Aaron Funk, remixes and collaborations included.

Metabuse w/ Speedranch
trackseven "Gay Superhero samples and great MLK cut up, "I Have A Dream, Deeply Rooted In Crooked Little Children"
off the newish chocolate wheel chair cover, 'Herbie Goes Ballistic'
the track which Abelcain remixed which is made up of Star Wars samples
some breakbeat titled mp3
Suasive Chess
what other artist let you listen to them having sex... it's fun listening to him explore where he plunders from. there's always at least one track on every release which hits home, that's worth it enough for me.

old c8 used to be fun

Hi All,

I love venetian snares as well. He has an impressive release roster to date and I just found out about another upcoming release from a store I am subscirbed to. Thought you might all like to know......

Dance Like You're Selling Nails is one of my favourite tracks

Release Date: November 15th 2004
Artist: Venetian Snares
Title: Infolepsy
Label: Coredump
Format: CDEP/Vinyl 12"

Canada's Venetian snares continues his worldwide sucker-punch assault
with what is very possibly the heaviest gun in his arsenal: infolepsy.
like the title suggests, mr. funk delivers an ep that will make your
body move like you're having a seizure. from destruction of the sesame
street pinball song, the desecration of uma thurman, and the
deconstruction and reconstruction of "punishing the atoms" snares
lambastes you like he hasn't since shitfuckers. this is venetian snares as you grew to love him; cranking out the sickest, cleanest, densest, most full-on breakcore you'll ever hear.

coredump records in its mission to diversify and bring you quality
electronic music is excited to be unleashing Venetian snares' latest
bastard child so it can steal the lunch money from rosemary's baby.
don't be fooled, this is the real future of the broken beat.

Audio samples available on site.

one year passes...
I'm going to try and sit through, for the first time, all of Meathole and Higgins ultra etc. while playing Counterstrike. I can't help but feel this is a bad idea.
