A friend with industry contacts has relayed a sad report that I hope is incorrect.

spittle (spittle), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 22:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Meaning?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Sick? Dead? What?????

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 22:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Run out of mascara?

LondonLee (LondonLee), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

She finally flipped out, killing Robert Smith and Steve Severin in some kind of frenzied rage?

Muppet Boy, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 22:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Dead, supposedly. But I can't find anything about it anywhere. I wouldn't even post it here except that the report comes from people who would theoretically know.

spittle (spittle), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 22:54 (twenty-two years ago)

www.thecreatures.com has a large-ish thread on the message board. Seems to be a false rumour.

Muppet Boy, Wednesday, 7 January 2004 22:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah. Phew. Thank you.

spittle (spittle), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Interestingly, the original report there seems to have come from someone at W*rner M*sic, as did the one I heard. Which still worries me a little...If it's not true, what's up with those W*rner people?

spittle (spittle), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 23:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I would hope this is not true.

Sean (Sean), Wednesday, 7 January 2004 23:43 (twenty-two years ago)

this was raised on a board i read, conclusion was that it was a hoax ...

mentalist (mentalist), Thursday, 8 January 2004 08:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I sincerely hope so. Bizarre, as I've been back on a Siouxsie kick in recent weeks (appropos of nothing in particular).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 13:26 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/womanshour/23_09_02/friday/images_day/siouxsie_sioux.jpg

i've found nothing to support the rumour anywhere on the web as yet.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 13:44 (twenty-two years ago)

"Bizarre, as I've been back on a Siouxsie kick in recent weeks (appropos of nothing in particular)."

Me too funnily enough (although in my case it's apropos of having recently obtained a CDR of their early demos / rehearsals and sessions!); and don't I recall having seen Neddy making a similar observation on another thread recently?

Could this be another case of the rock & roll uncanny ?!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 8 January 2004 13:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Something must be in the air, for I too have been entertaining a renewed Siouxsie interest. I think it might be her appearance on Kish Kash that did it for me. I wish I never traded away A Kiss in the Dreamhouse... was I mad?

Sean (Sean), Thursday, 8 January 2004 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

My revived interest is probably very linked to the new Creatures album.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Thursday, 8 January 2004 13:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I wish I never traded away A Kiss in the Dreamhouse... was I mad?

Yes, you were mad.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 8 January 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I keep seeing the words "Kish Kash" pop up on ILM. Pardon my boundless ignorance, but what is it?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

It's the new Basement Jaxx album, on which she sings (most spectacularly so) the title track.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 8 January 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

A Basement Jaxx album, everyone had downloaded about 6 months before release (not me tho)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 8 January 2004 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Get out! Really? Shit....must seek that out, then.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Boy am I out of touch

....(and why do i predict some smartass cut'n'pasting this exclamation into the ILEpitaphs thread?)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.side-line.com
"Yesterday a false report was spread throughout the internet saying that
Susan Dallion (aka Siouxsie Sioux), age 46 was discovered dead in her
Southern France home by her husband and long-time bandmate, Peter "Budgie"
Clark. The message even went that far by reporting that future purchases of
the newest album "Hái!" of Siouxsie's new project The Creatures were to be
donated towards the cost for the funeral and burial. The news was said to
be brought by the MSNBC.com staff, however, when Side-Line contacted the
MSNBC.com staff, they denied having published it. A little later Siouxsie's
manager in London confirmed through the official Creatures forum it was all
a bad hoax. "

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

well thank goodness for that!

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Damn, and I was hoping all my Banshees vinyl might actually be worth something now.

LondonLee (LondonLee), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

What a weird thing to start a hoax about.

spittle (spittle), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Does anyone have a link to any info about the new Creatures album?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

It's supposed to be quite good. But, honestly, I've never been a huge fan of the Creatures' stuff....apart from "Right Now", really.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess I just need Severin's bass in the equation.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Good as said bass is, them Creatures albums really are something -- I just love Budgie going off on the drums anyway, so there ya go.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, I haven't listened to it in years years years, but I remember really liking... boomerang was it?

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 8 January 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Just about everything they've put out is great but I'm admittedly biased. Boomerang is pretty spiff.
