Ok due to postage problems or something insane I now have about 6 or 7 CDs to review in the next 4 days, bearing in mind that I have college tomorrow and Friday. What the hell am I going to do? I've not heard *of* any of these bands let alone heard them. I think I'll muddle through but has anyone got any suggestions?

Exercise your creative muscles by writing reviews based solely on the covers of said CDs. If they're just blank promos, then improvise. Do NOT resort to quoting the one-sheet.

I think I can safely slate the first one anyway. Fucking power pop vaguely teenage fanclub shite. Heard of the Mayflies USA at all? Or Need new body? Or Edson? Or the singer from Hurricane #1s solo album? Or birddog?

Something I used to do that was fun - take an already-published review by another writer of a totally different record, and just change the references to titles, personnel etc. I copied a review of Queen's 'Night at the Opera' for a review of the first House of Pain record, for example.

Use alot of comparisons that make no sense and then try to make up the remaining words by justifying the random connections.

Claim every record is 'life-affirming'. Hey, it works for the NME, ha ha ha.

Need New Body are brill: totally deranged and frankly scary. review them. i gurantee if you don't like it, you will absolutely detest it which will at least make for entertaining writing.

I heard Can comparisons on All Music so maybe I will like them. I like Birddog already, sounds like Palace Records stuff. As for Alec Lowe and the Mayflies USA....................sorry guys.

Rame.net reviews x-rated movies. Just plug(!) a song in for each scene they review and presto! It won't, of course, make any sense. Here's one of my favorite excerpts-

"Peter's semen volume seems to be decreasing. We can only speculate."
