Er, dude?
Taking sides: UK ATP04 1 Vs. 2
Weekend 1, anyway.
Also the delicious tension before they reveal that the Pixies will/won't be playing is worth the ticket price after all.

Taking Sides - this thread or that thread.
I think this shows how little attention right thinking people pay to ILM these days.

Um, has anyone anywhere seriously suggested the Pixies are going to play?

I think there's a reasonable circumstantial case for The Pixies playing (delays, albini, blah). I do totally agree with Andrew that the anticipation is most delicious. I do, however, suspect that if they don't end up playing I will end up throttling someone I overhear talking about it before weekend 1 is over.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My hopes for the weekend are already pretty high just cos I'm getting to see Shellac again. The Pixies thing is just an extra bit of intrigue. It could, potentially spoil the weekend or make it legendary. On the other hand, it could just be quite good.

SO lemme get this straight - the reason I cannot get a ticket for weekend 1 is because a load of tosspots have bought tickets in anticipation of a band who
a) won't play
b) are not the Boredoms.
If the Pixies end up desperate enough to whore themselves on the revival circuit you can be pretty sure that ATP will not be your only chance to see them go throughtheir cabaret grunge motions.

Wow! Youthmovies are actually playing ATP! That shouldn't be a surprise, especially since half the band work at the festival anyway. But now I really wished I was going...
