Invoking the name of the M*rti*n must be done responsibly.

David Raposa, Friday, 28 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

See? ;) You da man! Oh please, Boards of Canada release before the end of the year to make it all perfect.

Omar, Friday, 28 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

[Tip - A lot to take in on screen - so print it out!, October is the probably the most prolific month for album releases in the year, there is so much stuff being released/reissued - I think I will have to set up an Amazon wishlist - to nudge my family re: Christmas presents ]

DJ Martian, Friday, 28 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

BOC - that is one that may be delayed - if Warp don't announce it in the next few weeks - I think I could be moved to Jan/ Feb.

DJ Martian, Friday, 28 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

dj martian i wuv you!!

(once in the course of my strange journalstic career i had reason to attend the weeding of the second daughter of the king of morocco — THIS IS TRUE!! — and watched from the journo stadium as the peoples of the regions came and brought presents, which was basically a big ole queue stretching-winding all around and about this marrakesh fort/palace, the ceremony taking SEVEN HOURS to complete, during which time king hassan II stood, w/o bathroom break or sit-down, and graciously received every last little mayor of nowheresville north africa...

anyway, i just flashed on martian doing the same with a titanic queue of siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins, each bearing a single xmas CD: compliments of the season!!

mark s, Friday, 28 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

weeding = rooting ha! no, wedding, obv *sigh*

mark s, Friday, 28 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yes, DJM is the source of all info, obviously.

By the way DJM - it looks like the long awaited 23 Skidoo re-ishoos are finally out! There was a review on Tangents and Sister Ray have them in the catalog. I think it's Urban Gamelan and 7 Songs first.

Dr. C, Friday, 28 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Okay. What the hell is Vincent Gallo doing on Warp???

Joseph, Saturday, 29 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Re. Gallo. Singing some strange songs or so I gathered. Read a review recently at nme.com that was rather positive. But don't expect any bleep 'n bass. ;)

Omar, Saturday, 29 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Were the Chemical Brothers there? Did I skip over their name? I heard their new one is out next month.

Ronan, Saturday, 29 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The Chemical Brothers delayed to 2002.

DJ Martian, Saturday, 29 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I don't. I am not interested in new music, as far as I can remember.

the pinefox, Saturday, 29 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Jeez! "Coup" (best single of all time) reviewed as a new single in NME? I'm getting old. Or is time now officially reversed.

Dr. C, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Time = a helix of semi-precious stones, surely, Dr C (blimey: that sort of even makes sense — either *I'm* getting old, or I'm turning in charles shaar murray)

mark s, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Coup (b/w The Gospel Comes to New Guinea) already out on 12", not sure about CD...

m jemmeson, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

re: Gallo. There was a review in AP about it being mediocre ambient/idm.

bnw, Sunday, 30 September 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

In fact, Time = a helix of crushed and empty beer cans.

Dr. C, Monday, 1 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A major source of advance release news is On The CD Front, which is American. A British one, including single releases, is Dotmusic's release schedule. Using various sources I myself compile a weekly updated schedule called Nieuwe Platen Vliegen Om Je Oren for

That last link should read "...for 3voor12 (under Journalism).

JoB, Monday, 1 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I go to a random link on this page...
