What the hell is garage? The term brings to mind the Surfaris, Sam Sham, the Troggs and the rest of the Nuggets crew, but somehow I don't think that's what y'all Brits mean when you talk about it. What is garage? Who are the central artists?

Disco for soul bores and people too "mature" for real disco.

(Naw, I don't really know what it is - or what it is these days, anyway. I'm just trying to be provocative.)

(Don't believe the previous parenthesis, even though it's entirely true. That is, don't believe the implication that it's only pretending to be true. I hate fake irony.)

Hey, you in italics! Shut up!

Shut up yourself, blubberbrain.

frank (and his internal jiminy cricket) is of course referring to amurrican garraage rather than yoo kay garridge, which is bit like house x jungle for destiny's children.

jess of course is referring to amphetamine driveway.

I hereby suggest use of the terms "gu-RAJ" (US) and "GA-ruj."

Nitsuh, Tuesday, 2 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

"we're a GA ridje band ohh ohh ohh, we come from Ga ridge land ohh ohh ohh" -The Clash says it best.

Maybe UK ga-RIDGE has a future in the U.S. after all: Saw a commercial last night featuring a computer-assisted infant hula-hooping with a Michelin tire to "Doom's Night." Very odd.
