Until the End of Time

How many songs contain the lyrical phrase "until the end of time"? Typically introduced by the claim "I will love you until the end of time" or words to that effect. Scads of country and pop vocal ballads from the 50s have this cliché of apocalypse in 'em.

I know it's in Roy Orbison's "Blue Angel"- but what other songs does it appear in? I want a list of ALL OF THEM. Help me ILMers!

Wait, are we supposed to do this without Google-cheating?

Don't Google-cheat . . . just dig deep into the part of your mind that stores lyrics, the reptile hind-brain packed with bubblegum choruses and doo wop verses etc.

keep em comin'

I think Innuendo by Queen uses this line. I should stress that I hate Queen, but back in 1990/91 when the song came out I was a Saturday boy in a decorating shop that played a muzak cover version of the song over and over and over and over.

all i can think of is "chapel of love" by the dixie cups..

"we'll love until the end of time and we'll never be lonely anymore"

i agree drew, it seems like this is a cliché lyric and/or concept, especially from that era, but apparently it's not too obvious....

um, are you in matmos!?

reo, Friday, 1 October 2004 23:49 (twenty years ago)

this won't yield a direct match on the lyrics, but sampling the strings on the chorus will provide a knowing wink

a classic! and definitely the same idea..

almost similarly, and one that i immediately thought of, but doesn't contain the lyric is "touch me" by the doors.
