Many years later, another cat of mine was burdened with the name Snowball (from the first Field Mice album), but that was truncated to Snowy by pretty much everyone, and anyway she didn't last long. The two cats in our house now have sensible names as the ones I named non-sensibly have ended up dead.

I have some friends who named their cat Carlos (after Santana) - i remember he had markings on his face that looked like a moustache.
I had a barn cat that made batch-after-batch of prime-grade kittens. One litter begat Cat Power and Peetie Wheatstraw.
