The point is neither one is better. they both suck. I want to see how bad the "rhythm" vs. "melody" argument can get. Here is the worst I can think of.

A while ago there was a thread about "what is black music?" and "what is white music?" which got completely misinterpreted by almost everyone who replied, but took as one of its opening points someone's quote that Shellac are "the whitest band in the world". It was only later that I found out that quote came from, er, me. I have no idea why I said that. It's bollocks.

It's kind of a splippery slope. I mean what does "white" music entail other than a complete and utter lack of "funk", right? I dunno....the entire debate skirts dangerously close to stereotyping, which, of course, courts hair-trigger accusations of racism and all that.
