And Travis. Travis, I blame you for all the ills of society, you fucking namby-pamby dullards. I blame you for Coldplay and Starsailor. How many times must we repeat this to those defenders of this cesspool of mundanity- I _know_ it's just background music, that's what irks me so much, it's OFFENSIVELY INOFFENSIVE, die die you bastards.
Yes.

The Alien Ant Farm thing is getting there. why isn't this an obscure b-side? what's it doing clogging up the air waves and night clubs?

I should really amend my sentence to read more like, "Imagine the worst possible outcome of a band who adores Korn and Mr. Bungle equally but doesn't have the musical skill to pull off either of their styles convincingly." That's about what Drowning Pool sounds like to me.

I'm actually surprised at how much I hated it - so probably there's a strong element of wounded defensiveness there too.
I also start chuffing whenever friends start ignorantly extoling the virtues of every classic rock / classic rock-sounding band this side of a K-Tel compilation. I mightily resist the urge to bust out my Superchunk CDs and implement them ninja-star style, or (worse yet) open my mouth and actually say what I REALLY think. Then I realize I'm a pretentious shite, and I take a chill pill.

Exactly, we the listeners are the poor puppies being kicked by the godawfulness of the song.
Also all Turin Brakes tracks piss me off aswell particularly the one that goes "Savvvvve Meeee..Savveee Meeeeee.." ..vile and disgusting over emphasis on the vocal style and formula songs - I call them Turd- in Brakes - they even bet Starsailor as the most horrid brit guitar newcomers of 2001.

The track that sticks out on the album like a sore thumb is "Jigga That Nigga", and even that is very good.

1. A few months ago I was at Stevie T's place around midnight: ToTP repeat came on: Destiny's Child singing 45 'Survivor': utter abomination.
2. More recently, I was at Stevie's, c. 2am, and he played me the B&S Peel Session. A stupid rap about the Go-Betweens. Stillborn.
3. More recently still, I was watching ToTP and saw the Manic Street Preachers play 'Let Robeson Sing'. The awfulness of the lyrics almost plumbed a new depth. I hate their stupid jumping bass player very much.
